SOME ANNUAL FAVORITES are back this weekend!  If you're lucky enough to be here enjoying a three-day weekend at the shore, be sure to visit two of our annual favorites...the Avalon Arts & Seafood Festival takes place on Saturday from 10am to 5pm at Surfside Park, and will feature fresh local seafood, live music, artisan crafts and decor, and a variety of vendors.  Also happening Saturday is the Stone Harbor Classic & Vintage Car Show, featuring a variety of automobiles on display on 96th Street, from 10am to 1pm.  Both events are perfect for enjoying the best of Seven Mile Island during the off season!
 
OTHER OFF-SEASON FAVORITES are available to enjoy nearly anytime.  If you feel that summertime is often too busy to squeeze in some of the fun things around Cape May County, try them now!  Here are some ideas: visit one of the county's many breweries; spend an afternoon at the Cape May County Park & Zoo (it's free!); explore the Cape May Lighthouse; make a reservation at a restaurant that's normally crowded in the summer; visit a local winery for tasting; ride as a foot passenger aboard the Cape May-Lewes Ferry;

HAVE YOU SEEN MONARCH BUTTERFLIES travelling southward?  They do every year at this time, on their annual journey to Mexico.  Cape May County's geography acts as a natural funnel, increasing the likelihood of seeing monarchs as they migrate.  Monarchs will often stop to roost in groups; if they do, observe them from a distance so as not to disturb them.
